British emcees Trigga Ryder & Frankie Benjamins have dropped the official music video for their new street anthem “Still In The Hood”, directed by 92 Media. The new track is taken from the upcoming mixtape Next Level, which is scheduled for December.
Trigga Ryder started out freestyling at open mic events in and around the South West and then moved on to feature on a number of recordings, working with a variety of artists. In 2006 Trigga recorded Chat Bout Guns, a collaboration with MC Wyzeleigh and Social Conscience for Increase the Peace; the weapon amnesty album. This project was masterminded by Kelz to raise awareness about violence, anti-social behaviour, gun and knife crime in Bristol.
Trigga went on to self-release his own mixtape in 2008, entitled Trigganometry, produced by Flipz. He has appeared in ‘F**k You The Dvd’ produced by In da Lab productions and featured on Numb’s 2009 album, Salt of the Earth. Trigga has shared stages with many artists including Skinny Man, TY, Estelle, L Dot Man, Speech Debelle and Foreign Beggars.
Frankie Benjamins started MC-ing before he was old enough to legally be in the clubs. He wrote and performed three tracks on Trigganometry and has worked with Trigga ever since. They have been working on their new mixtape, Next Level, since Trigga moved to Manchester in 2011.
